Primary & Secondary SEN Tutor Vacancies

Bright Heart Education’s tuition agency (an employment business) is seeking experienced tutors with excellent spoken and written English to provide one-to-one tuition to students. Students typically receive tuition in their homes and a parent or guardian will always be present during all tuition.

Successful candidates will be provided with further information and guidelines on the Bright Heart Approach and relevant training for working with SEN students.

Key qualifications

All candidates must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to have a current Enhanced DBS certificate before commencing any tutoring assignments (we can apply on behalf of a candidate if not currently held). Candidates will also be required to provide us with 2 independent references with one of them preferably tutoring/teaching-related.

Key qualities we look for in our tutors include:

  • Passion for teaching their subjects of expertise
  • Ability to provide engaging and informative lessons that motivate students
  • Ability to create bespoke lessons according to the student’s needs
  • Caring, patient and empathetic
  • Professional and diligent

In addition, candidates should have:

  • At least 6 months of relevant tutoring experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • A strong academic record and strong subject knowledge in their tuition subject(s)
  • University qualification, or currently studying towards a university qualification
  • Passion for teaching and for their tuition subject(s)
  • SEN tuition/teaching experience

You will be working as a self-employed, part-time tutor, so you will be free to choose which clients / students you wish to provide tuition to (although we prefer tutors who have 80 hours of tutoring availability over a 12-month period).
