We review numerous CVs before short-listing the most appropriate candidates, who are then telephone screened, interviewed in person and background checked – this includes ensuring a candidate has a current Enhanced DBS Certificate (criminal background check for people working with children) and at least 2 independent and credible references.
Successful candidates are provided with detailed initial training on the Bright Heart Approach and how to meet the individual learning needs of students, as well as on-going training and development through in-person workshops run by nasen. Putting this all together, no Bright Heart tutor is ever ‘thrown into the deep-end’ when meeting a new student.
We carefully select our quality tutors from a wide range of backgrounds, with each of our tutors embodying the Bright Heart Approach in their lessons through patience, understanding and the building of rapport. This creates a stable platform for the realisation of potential and academic success – especially for those students with additional needs or those who lack confidence and motivation.
